In February, 29 students and 4 staff went on a trip of a lifetime to Mumbai to work with the children at the Prem Dan Garden school and also the girls hostel. This was the 20th trip, which made it extra special.
The Prem Dan children enjoyed the activities our students planned for them; crafting, dancing and sports. Visiting Reay Road slum school was a real privilege seeing where these children learn. This was a real eye opener for our students, with many feeling very emotional and lucky about their own lives. It was amazing to see how happy all of these young children are, despite very poor living conditions.
Prem Dan also appreciated our visit and educational materials, some words from Sister Helen: ‘The students ensured that every child felt seen, valued, and empowered. They instilled a sense of adventure, self-worth, and capability, making each child feel special. Their visit was more than just a brief interaction—it was a powerful exchange of love, learning, and growth.’
For the second leg of the trip, we flew to Kochi, in Kerala where we got to see the incredible views of the tea plantations. A fantastic and uplifting trip for all involved.
