In February, the Media and Film department took 29 students on an unforgettable trip to New York City. The trip offered students the chance to explore the city’s rich film and television history, visiting some of the most iconic locations ever captured on screen.
Throughout the week, students visited legendary film and TV sites, including the Friends apartment building, Ghostbusters HQ, and cinematic landmarks such as Brooklyn Bridge, Grand Central Station, the Flatiron Building, the New York Library, and Central Park to name a few. A particular highlight was the time spent at the Rockefeller Centre, where the atmosphere was buzzing as preparations were underway for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary celebration.
As part of the trip, students had the opportunity to tour NBC Studios and taking on roles as presenters, guests, and crew members by producing their very own NBC talk show, in addition to visiting the top of the rock for some excellent photos of the sunset.
The trip coincided with the Business department’s visit to the city, with both groups making the most of their subject-specific experiences while sharing in the energy of New York.
