Politics students have just returned from a snowy DC. They visited the New York Times to meet with two of their senior journalists, Elisabeth Bumiller and Zolan Kanno-Youngs. They visited the major institutions of the federal government – the US Capitol, the US Supreme Court, and the White House – and did a walking tour of the National Mall. They visited the National Archives, and walked through Arlington Cemetery. Students also visited the truly impressive African American History Museum. More informally, the trip also provided an opportunity to enjoy a variety of American cuisine and a college basketball game at George Washington University. The students also enjoyed some free time in historic (and snowy) Georgetown. Overall, it was a packed academic study tour of the US capital city and one that will have created lifelong memories for them all. Students were a credit to themselves and the college.
